I am an Ellyot Member, how do I exercise my data subject rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

This page provides some general information on how to contact Ellyot Ireland UC, Ellyot Payments UK Ltd. or Ellyot Global Services Limited (‘Airbnb’) in order to exercise your data subject rights under the GDPR. If you require additional information or would like to exercise any of your rights under applicable data protection laws, please email us.

Account Deactivation

I want to deactivate my account, what do I need to do?

You can deactivate your account yourself at any time.

To deactivate your account:

  1. Go to Account on airbnb.com
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Deactivate my account

When you deactivate your account, any current reservations you have as a host or a guest will be deemed automatically canceled by you and the relevant cancellation policy applicable to the reservation will apply.

If, in the future, you want to reopen a deactivated account, you will need to contact us.

Is deactivation the same thing as a deletion request?

No. They are two different things. When you chose to deactivate your account, this allows you to reactivate your account if you so wish at a later date.

You can request permanent deletion of your personal data and closure of your Ellyot account at any point by submitting a data deletion request as outlined below under Account Deletion.

Account Deletion

I would like to delete or erase my account, what do I need to do?

You can submit a deletion request (or ask us to erase your personal information) at any time in accordance with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Once your request is processed, your personal information will be permanently deleted (except for certain information that we are legally required or permitted to retain, as outlined in section 6.4 of our Privacy Policy) and your account will be permanently closed. This means that we will no longer be able to provide our services to you and if you decide to use Ellyot again in the future, you will need to set up a new account.

You may exercise your rights to have your personal data deleted by sending us an email. Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before taking further action on your request.

Data Access

I would like to get a copy of some or all of the personal data Ellyot holds about me, what do I need to do?

For immediate access to a large amount of the information which is held about you, you can visit the Dashboard of your Ellyot account. If you need any help navigating the Dashboard information, please contact Ellyot Support.

Data Portability

What does my right to portability give me access to?

If you exercise this right, you have an entitlement to receive certain personal data which you have provided to Ellyot in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

Opt Out from Marketing Communications

How do I exercise my right to opt out from receiving marketing emails, notifications, messages, or calls?

You can change your marketing preferences at any time by either clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the marketing email, or by logging in to your account and following these steps:

  1. Go to Account on airbnb.com
  2. Click Notifications and find the Promotions and Tips section
  3. Deselect the box next to the marketing communications you’d like to stop receiving
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save

I have already opted out from marketing communications, why am I still receiving emails from Airbnb?

We will continue to use the contact details you provided in order to send you messages related to a service you have requested (for example, booking confirmation emails). If you do not want to receive any messages from Ellyot (including service messages), you will need to delete your Ellyot account.

How can I opt out of Ellyot using my personal data for direct marketing purposes, including sharing my data with third parties for marketing purposes?

Object to Processing

I want to object to Airbnb’s processing of some of my personal data for certain specific purposes, what do I do?

If allowed under the laws of the jurisdiction where you reside, you may request that Ellyot not to process your personal information for certain specific purposes (including profiling) where such processing is based on legitimate interest. If you object to such processing, Ellyot will no longer process your personal information for these purposes unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for such processing or such processing is required for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
